AnnexB is proud to announce that the Brazilian artist Mag Magrela is back in New York after almost two years since her visit to the city.

Mag’s murals of orange-colored women have become well-known in Sao Paulo and beyond, and her studio works are extensions of the artist’s street works. “I came from the street walls to canvas and the two are equally important to me. This is how I feel complete”, says Mag.

Mag will be in New York this summer to paint murals around the city. Looking for a deep cultural exchange, she also decided to have her own open door studio in the city to share her work and experience with visitors.

‘Pindorama’ in Tupi means land of the palm trees, a land free from evil. That was the name the Natives called Brazil before the colonization. Inspired by the always present dichotomy of the utopia of the perfect world and the reality, Mag named her studio Pindorama in Flames. She will bring a piece of Brazil to New York and expose the current momentum her home country is going through, without losing hope for better days – after the fire, a new beginning emerges.

Visiting her studio will be a unique opportunity to meet Mag, see her art and learn about her work process.

How many rivers we have to cross to meet?
I found another language under the rug.
Wise ignorance
Gave me the science
Of listening with the heart.
How many crystals
will be scattered
On the trail,
For you to find me?
